    A 39-year old Atmore man was arrested Friday and charged with murder the Aug. 5 death of Kenneth Elbert Harrison, 45, who was attacked in the parking lot of The Tavern of Atmore, located at 5440 Highway 31 in Atmore. Kendrell Monta Madison, 39, 209 ½ 10th Ave., was arrested about 5:40 a.m. after a traffic stop and charged with murder.     A convicted sex offender who had registered his home address in Flomaton was arrested for violating Alabama's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act after officials determined he was living in Century. Darrell Anthony Smith, 51, whose address was listed at 4247 Old Atmore Road, was arrested last week and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton and jailed on $50,000 bond.   • Cities will pay for housing prisoners

    Municipalities within Escambia County (Ala.) will soon have to pay the county $35 per day for housing inmates arrested on misdemeanor charges or violating local ordinances under an agreement passed Monday by the county commission. The commission approved a tri-party intergovernmental service agreement for housing city prisoners.
