At Jay High School's Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM) Community Innovative night, Jay High School and Elementary School administration, faculty, students, area colleges, trade schools and other STEAM professionals provided stations with hands-on activities relevant to their professions and careers in the science field to demonstrate how science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics can be applied, along with modern technology, in today's global classrooms to prepare today's students for tomorrow's workforce.

The science-based activities addressed neurophysiology, physics, nature, math, engineering, chemistry, health and wellness, electricity and circuits, power, nutrition, energy and culinary aspects of the STEAM program through simple tasks.

The Pensacola Mess Hall, the Emerald Coast Science Center, the engineering department of UWF, George Stone Technical School, Locklin Technical, Army, Marines, Coastal Alabama Community College, Fortis, Ascend and STOA Architects as well as classrooms pre-K through 5th grade gave visitors a chance to see science in action. Circuit boards, a wind tube, games, and other simple activities were offered to engage community members, parents, students and visitors.
