Brewton man accused of threatening judge, law firm, attorneys acquitted on directive verdict

A Brewton man who was arrested in November, 2020 for making threats against Escambia County Circuit Judge Todd Stearns and the Otts and Moore law firm had the charges dismissed last week when Monroe County Circuit Judge Jack Weaver granted the defense motion for acquittal and Judge Weaver issued the directive verdict prior to the case heading to a jury.

Jason Warren Pugh, whose last address was listed on McGougin Road in Brewton, was accused of making the threats against Judge Stearns and the law firm and saying he would sue Brewton attorneys Earnie White, Danny White and Mike Godwin.
