An Atmore man lost his life Monday morning in what authorities believe was the onset of a possible medical emergency prior to the single-vehicle accident.
Danny Wayne Boyington, 53, was driving an empty 2007 Freightliner log truck southbound on U.S. Highway 31 when his truck drifted onto the shoulder and came to rest along the wood line, according to an Alabama Law Enforcement crash report. The accident happened near mile marker 38 in Atmore near Byrne Road a few minutes after 4 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11 the report said.
Boyington's body was later transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Mobile for an autopsy.
