Brewton man is arrested for rape

A 30-year old Brewton man was charged with rape II after being accused of having sex with a 15-year old girl.

Charles David Thomas, 165 Kilgore Road was arrested following an investigation by the Flomaton Police Department. Police said a relative of the girl reported the incident.

Court records state the 15-year old girl told officers she snuck out of her house and met Thomas and the two had sex.

Thomas turned himself in at the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton and was issued a $50,000 bond.
