Flomaton kicks things off Saturday; E.B., Jay, Poarch set July 4
The town of Flomaton will kickoff the Independence Day celebrations on Saturday, July 1, at Dewey J. Bondurant, Jr., Park starting at 2 p.m. and ending at dark with the annual fireworks show behind the lake.
East Brewton, Jay and Poarch will hold their celebrations on July 4.
Flomaton
More than 30 vendors are scheduled for the park in Flomaton with the celebration beginning at 2 p.m.
In addition to arts and crafts, 3-D Eats will be selling hamburgers, hotdogs, loaded fries, slushy sweet tea and chicken sandwiches. Arlene's BBQ grill will be selling sandwiches and plates and the Sweet Love Ice Cream bus will be on site.
There will also be children's activities which include bouncy houses, train rides and more.
Fireworks are scheduled at dark.

East Brewton
East Brewton will kickoff July 4 at 9 a.m.with a spades tournament at the senior citizens center on Williamson Street followed by BINGO at 1 p.m.
Activities will move to the East Brewton Park next to Piggly Wiggly with a horseshoe tournament at 4 p.m.
Entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. with Lois Crenshaw, followed by Melissa Owens.
The annual duck race will be held at 6 p.m. Ducks cost $5 each and can be purchased at East Brewton City Hall. Owner of the first place duck wins $200, second place wins $100 and third place wins $50.
Local talent will hit the stage from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by Tonya Graves and Mancil Rock Mafia. Fireworks will light up the sky at 9:30 p.m.

Jay
Lace up your sneakers and come join the 24th Annual Celebrate Freedom 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run which will will start at 8 a.m., Tuesday, July 4, at Bray-Hendricks Park at 5259 Booker Lane in Jay. Registration is $25 the day of the race or $20 if someone pre-registers by going to Active.com then look up 24th Annual Celebrate Freedom 5K, also on Facebook. Packet pick-up day of race only at 6:30 a.m. After the race, there will be watermelon and refreshments served. The first registered are guaranteed a T-shirt. Prizes for 32 divisions for male and female age groups as well as Top three finishers and more will be given out afterward.
The fireworks show will be held at 8:45 p.m. at the park. People are asked to park on Higdon Drive and bring a lawn chair to enjoy the show.
Wind Creek
Wind Creek Casino will host a Fireworks Celebration at 9 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, on Highway 21 in Atmore.
