Atmore police discover 38 grams of meth

A Milton woman who was a passenger in a vehicle that had an expired tag now sits in the Escambia County (Ala.) Detention Center in Brewton on $1 million bond for trafficking methamphetamine.

Kristina Elise Saxson, 33, 5317 Catalina St., Milton, was arrested June 12 by Atmore police and charged with trafficking and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks said an officer spotted a vehicle with an expired tag and initiated a traffic stop. Court records show the stop was made near 1339 South Main Street.

The officer discovered about 100 baggies that contained a total of 28 grams of meth. Brooks also said Saxson said the illegal drugs were hers.
