Emma “Granny Lou” Cooley, 81, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, in Huxford, Ala.
Mrs. Cooley was a native of Fairmont, W.Va., who had resided in Huxford for the past 36 years. Owner and operator of Lou's Grocery for 32 years, she was a member of Huxford Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Richard Daniel and Ray Ward officiating. Burial followed at Huxford Baptist Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Cooley is survived by one daughter, Michele (Allen) Turner of Huxford; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.
Mrs. Cooley was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Ralph Cooley; one daughter, Evelyn Lee Anna Owens; one brother, Edgar Glover; one sister, Ruth Hamilton; and one grandchild.
