Suspicious person call ends in methamphetamine arrest

Officers respond to Lambeth Church; found drugs on Cozart

Flomaton police were dispatched to Lambeth Church Tuesday to assist the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on a suspicious person call and ended up arresting a Flomaton man on drug charges after he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Adam Cozart, 39, 6800 Upper Creek Road, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.

According reports, the sheriff's office received a call about a suspicious person at the church located on Wolflog Road.

Flomaton police were the first on the scene and made contact with Cozart. Cozart gave officers permission to search him and officers reported finding a zipper pouch containing a white substance believed to be meth. Officers also recovered a green bottle cap containing the same substance.
