    Ron Cink, who has served as Baldwin County's budget manager and administrator for the past 17 years, will become Escambia County's new clerk-administrator on May 15, replacing Tony Sanks who is resigning the clerk-administrator position he's held for more than 28 years.     In a special meeting last Friday, the Flomaton Town Council approved spending $29,000 on a new motor for a used firetruck it purchased recently when it was discovered there was a blown head gasket with a slow leak. The town currently has one firetruck in commission and this will add a second. The Town of Flomaton purchased the 2003 fire engine with only 51,000 miles for $68,000 on April 12, 2023, from the town of Springville in north Alabama.     Thanks to a $1.2 million grant secured by U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl and a $2.5 million shift in Alabama Rescue Plan Act funds, Escambia County, Ala., is about to kickoff a $3.7 million project to update communications for law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services and other first responders.
