Activities abound surrounding Halloween

Area festivities will kick off this Thursday in Atmore and Monroeville and continue Saturday, wrapping up with trick-or-treat activities in Brewton, Century, Flomaton and Jay on Tuesday.

Atmore

Treat-or-Treat on the Street in Atmore will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., this Thursday, with live music from Dream House at Boxcar Willie on Trammel Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. Businesses will be open and handing out candy to little ghosts and goblins downtown.

Williams Station Day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, on Pensacola Avenue in Atmore. Entertainment includes arts and crafts exhibits, heritage displays, commercial vendors, food, train rides, a children's area, a photography contest, the 3rd annual Atmore Community Hospital breast cancer awareness 5K run/walk and more. For more information, call 251-368-6396. There will also be a Cruisers' Unlimited Car Show, welcoming all makes and models. Setup is by 8 a.m., with Top 10 and People's Choice awards to be given at 2 p.m., following judging from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Contest entry fee is $20 and the first 20 owners registered will receive dash plaques. Brewton

The Brewton Lions Club will host its 19th annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle 'Ribs and Rides' Show from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at 220 St. Joseph St. in downtown Brewton. Each car registered comes with a $10 meal ticket. BBQ plates will be available for sale from Camp 31 restaurant. This is an outside show with inside restrooms. There will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, music and more. To register a car or for more information, call Glen Freeman at 251-867-4781.

There will be a Witches Ride in Brewton starting at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, with line-up in the Brewton YMCA parking lot. Anyone who is interested in riding can register on site at 2:30 p.m. or prepay using Venmo @WOBFLY. $15 per bike, $30 per cart or side-by-side, $15 per person. All proceeds go to Savannah Blackman who is fighting Ewing's Sarcoma. Following at 4 p.m. is the Cold Moon Fest at Market Park with live music. Habitat for Humanity will have a market and haunted house. The festivities will end around 8 p.m.

There will be a Matthew's 25 Center Fundraising Banquet at 5 p.m., Saturday, at the Avenew, located at 1023 Douglas Ave. to raise money to open a homeless shelter. Tickets are $25 each or $225 to reserve a table for eight people. Sponsorships are available. Brewton Public Library will hold a Fall Festival from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 206 W. Jackson St. There will be a toy walk, pumpkin golf, a pumpkin can toss, bean bag toss, cake walk, foot ball toss, basketball, go fishing, popcorn, fall brew, face painting, festive photo booth and more. Century

The Century Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 4th annual Truck or Treat from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, at Pensacola State College's Century Campus, located at 400 E. Hecker Rd. There is no fee to participate and costumes are encouraged. Anyone interested in creating a trunk, tent or table contact 850-256-3155 or [email protected] with questions or for registration information.

Century Center for Rehabilitation and Healing will hold its Fall Festival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 6020 Industrial Blvd. in Century. Free admission and fun for all with games, food, music, candy and more. Family friendly and welcome to all.

Flomaton

The town of Flomaton will hold its 'Trunk or Treat' from 5:30 a.m. to 8-ish Tuesday, Oct. 31 downtown with businesses handing out candy and other goodies and refreshments for sale.

There will also be a 'Movie on the Lawn' beginning at 6 p.m. at the stage next to the post office. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the kid-friendly movie.

Town hall will also be open for its bathrooms.

Jay

Fall Into Fun from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 31, (Halloween Day!), Fall Into Fun at the Jay Library! Drop by in your costume on Halloween between 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and enjoy a scavenger hunt, games, and giveaways.

The Town of Jay will hold its Trick-or-Treat on Commerce Street starting at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31. Candy and trick-or-treat booths open at 5 p.m. and a Kid's Costume Contest will be held at 6:30 p.m. No pets. Any organization or youth group interested in hosting a booth can visit or contact Jay Town Hall at 850-675-4556.

Monroeville

There will be a Witch's Ride and Ghouls Night Out from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., this Thursday, Oct. 26, in downtown Monroeville. Bikes and golf carts will take flight at 6:30 p.m. Call Monroeville City Hall at 251-923-7470 for more information or to register to ride.
