Drug bust nets two arrests in Flomaton

Officers execute search warrant, find meth

Two Flomaton residents were arrested on drug charges last Wednesday when Flomaton police officers and agents with the Alabama Drug Task force executed a search warrant at their 904 Titi St., residence.

Deidre Helen Fitzgerald, 53, and Donald Victor Gregg, 61, were both charged and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.

Fitzgerald and Gregg were both charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of services IV. Fitzgerald was also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance when officers found a bottle of Metoclopramide pills with no prescription.

Flomaton Police Chief Dane NeSmith said officers had made several traffic stops on vehicles leaving the residence and found meth in those vehicles after the stops. He said those suspects said they had bought the meth at 904 Titi St.

Police executed the search warrant about 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept., 6 and discovered the illegal drugs.

Chief NeSmith said the charge of theft of services dealt with the theft of sewer services from the town of Flomaton. He said police had been notified by the utility department that there was no water service at the house. NeSmith said police determined the two were stealing buckets of water from their neighbors and using the water to access the sewer system.

Fitzgerald and Gregg have both been released from the county jail on $5,000 bond each.
