Brewton man dies in collision

Evergreen man also killed Monday in head-on crash in Conecuh

A Brewton man and Evergreen man were killed in a head-on collision early Monday morning on Highway 84 in Conecuh County.

According to reports released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Taleik N. Benjamin, 22, of Evergreen and Phillip D. Hall, 65, of Brewton were both killed in the crash.

Reports state that a 2016 Kia Sportage driven by Benjamin collided head on with a 2016 Dodge Dart driven by Hall. The report also noted Benjamin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash happened about 4:25 a.m. June 19 on Highway 84 near the 81 mile marker about 2 miles west of the Repton city limits. Benjamin and Hall were both pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA officials said the Highway Patrol Division is continuing the investigation and no other information was available.
