DeSantis wins big; Century votes Crist

Century voters favor Crist over De’Santis

While the rest of the state of Florida supported Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis Tuesday with 59.38 percent of the votes vs. Democrat Charlie Crist’s 39.96 percent, Precinct 22 in the town of Century supported Crist with 122 votes and DeSantis with 115.

Precinct 22 in Century

Tuesday, about 6 percent, or 241 out of 1,207 registered in Escambia County’s Precinct 22 in Century turned out in person to cast their ballots, with 451 votes counted total.

District 1 State Rep. Michell Salzman took 69.27 percent of the votes with 42,992 and second-time opponent Franscine Mathis got 30.73 percent of the votes, with 19,075. In Century, Salzman came out with 118 total votes, while Mathis received 121.

U.S. Senator Marc Rubio got 113 and Democrat Val Demmings got 124; U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz got 109 and his opponent Rebekah Jones got 127; Gov. Desantis got 115 votes while Crist got 122; and Sen. Doug Broxson got 115 votes and opponent Charlie Nichols got 124 votes.

Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis won 113 votes and his opponent, Adam Hattersly got 126. Attorney General Ashley Moody had 114 votes while opponent Aramis Ayala got 128 votes. Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson won 114 votes while opponent Naomi Esther Blemur got 124 votes.

The outcome for the county referendum No 3 amendment was 153 for and 73 against. Four skipped the item and did not answer.

Escambia County votes

Compared to overall county votes, Salzman got 69.27 percent or 42,992 votes and Mathis received 30.73 percent, or 19,095 out of 62,067 total votes.

Rubio got 63.38 percent or 73,166 and Demings got 35.29 percent or 40.741 out of 115,441 votes.

Gaetz got 59.02 percent, or 67,280 votes while Jones got 40.98 percent, or 46,713 out of 113,993 votes.

Desantis received 64.47 percent, or 74,549 votes while Crist got 34.62 percent, or 40,030 votes out of 115,631 votes.

Broxson won 64.98 percent, or 74,502 votes and opponenet Nichols got 35.02 percent, or 40,156 votes out of 114,658 votes.

Patronis received 64.94 percent, or 73,684 votes and opponent Hattersly received 35.06 percent, or 39,784 votes out of a total 113,468 votes.

Moody got 65.83 percent, or 75,535 votes and Ayala got 34.17 percent, or 39,200 votes out of 114,735 total votes.

Simpson got 64.50 percent, or 73,436 votes while Blemur got 35.50 percent, or 40,412 votes out of 113,848 total votes.

The county voted in support of county amendment No. 3 at 62.52 percent and 37.48 percent against.
