Second arrested in endangerment case

Lopez, aka Trawick charged along with Issac Lopez

A second person was arrested along with Issac Lopez on identical charges of endangering the welfare of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Elizabeth Lopez, 28, aka Elizabeth Trawick, 968 Old Sardine Road was charged with the misdemeanor counts and issued a bond at the scene of her arrests.

Flomaton Municipal Court records list her as Elizabeth Lopez.

The arrests of Issac and Elizabeth Lopez came after an ambulance was dispatched to her residence on Dec. 25, 2021 to find a 13-year old suffering from alcohol poisoning.

Reports stated the child told authorities he had consumed vodka throughout the night and had become sick.

An ambulance arrived on the scene to treat the child. In last week’s edition of the Tri-City Ledger it was incorrectly reported that the mother of the child had refused the transport the child to the hospital.

However, reports show the signature of Elizabeth Trawick as the person who refused to allow the child to be transported. The mother of the child had arrived on the scene and said she would have definitely asked for her son to the transported to the hospital.

However, the 13-year old was examined by emergency personnel and allowed remain.

The misdemeanor charges against Issac Lopez, led District Attorney Steve Billy to file a motion to revoke Lopez’s $200,000 bond for using his position for personal gain.

Lopez was serving as a Flomaton police officer in December, 2020, when he was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine. He was released on $100,000 bond in Florida. He was then charged in Alabama for using his cell phone, provided by the Flomaton Police Department, to arrange drug deals.

Lopez was arrested on Highway 29 in Molino on the trafficking charge after he had allegedly arranged a deal for 2 ounces of meth. The deal turned out to be with an undercover officer. Reports state that when Lopez was arrested in Florida he 14 or more grams of meth in his possession.
