Woman jailed for sex with minor

A 21-year old Flomaton woman was charged with rape, sodomy and interfering with child custody for allegedly having sex with a 15-year old juvenile.

Paisley Lanet Gantt, 567 Oil Well Road, was arrested by Flomaton police who were investigating a missing juvenile case last week.

Police Chief Chance Thompson said the juvenile was located with Gantt within two hours after the missing juvenile report came into the police department.

According to court records the alleged sexual contact with the juvenile occurred between September, 2021 and Jan. 6, 2022 and began when the child was 14 years old.

Records show Gantt is accused of hiding the juvenile at her residence and keeping him from school without permission from the child's father.

Records also show Gantt is accused of engaging in deviate sexual intercourse and sexual intercourse with the teen, which led to the rape II and sodomy II charges.

Gantt was jailed on $50,000 bond and if she is released she is to have no contact with the victim or any child under the age of 16.
