Flooding moves the event to Nov. 5-6
The recent flooding in Brewton and East Brewton forced the Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce to cancel last weekend's PCA rodeo, but the rodeo will now be held on Friday Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6.
Clay Lisenby, chamber chairperson for the rodeo, said the flooding caused about 5 inches of rain to back up at O'Bannon Park, which prompted the cancellation.
He said the Nov. 5 and 6 dates were selected by contacting the stock contractor for the next available dates.
Lisenby did say the Brewton Municipal Arena did not suffer any damage and will be ready for the next event.
Lisenby also said all tickets sold for this past weekend's event will be honored for the upcoming event.
Tickets at the gate will be $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Advanced adult tickets can be purchased for $10 until 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 at the chamber of commerce office. Advanced tickets can also be purchased at http://www.brewtonchamber.com.
