Multiple shots fired outside Chevron store
Atmore police are continuing their investigation into a 6:38 p.m. Tuesday shooting on South Main Street where the alleged shooter and the alleged victims fled the scene before police arrived.
Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks said witnesses told officers that someone pulled to the gas pumps at the Chevron Station and went inside to pay for the gas.
While pumping the gas, another vehicle came through the traffic light and stopped on Highway 21. The man pumping gas, dove back into his vehicle, retrieved a gun and fired multiple shots at the vehicle on the road. He then got into his vehicle and fled, as did the vehicle on Highway 21.
“We're still trying to piece things together,” Chief Brooks said Wednesday.
