Atmore man jailed for animal cruelty

Left dogs to die without food, water, shelter

An Atmore man was given a $30,000 bond on a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals and four misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals after officers found one dog dead and others tethered with no food or shelter.

Larry Leslie Walker, 41, 1880 James Road, was also ordered by District Judge Eric Coale not to possess any animals if he is released on bond.

Court records state on July 7, officers found a dead female shepherd puppy that had no access to food, water or shelter on Walker's property.
