McCreary allegedly sold drugs to informant; police execute warrant
An undercover operation by the Brewton Police Department led to the arrest of Michael Lee McCreary on multiple drug charges including the sale and possession methamphetamine, crack cocaine and the prescription drug Alprazolam.
McCreary, 35, 1675 South Boulevard, Lot 8, was arrested Jan. 29 charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, five counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Karie Nicole Griffey, 40, also of 1675 South Boulevard, Lot 8, was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Alprazolam, meth and crack cocaine) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
McCreary was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton and issued a $200,000 bond. If he is released from jail, he will be required to wear a GPS electronic monitoring device.
The arrest warrants note on Jan. 22, McCreary is accused of selling and possessing meth to an individual working in cooperation with the Brewton Police Department's narcotics unit at or near his 1675 South Boulevard address.
On Jan. 28, McCreary is also accused of possession and selling meth to a person cooperating with the police department at or near his home.

The warrants also state on Jan. 29, McCreary and Griffey possessed crack cocaine, meth, Alprazolam and digital scales. Alprazolam is a schedule 4 drug that requires a prescription.
Griffey was released from jail on her signature, but will be required to have random drug testing administered through the county's drug court.
