Residents across the area were bracing for Hurricane Zeta Wednesday as the storm roared across the Gulf of Mexico with an anticipated landfall near the Louisiana-Mississippi line and then turn east that was expected to bring tropical storm winds and rain across the area.
Escambia County (Ala.) Emergency Management Agency Director David Adams said Wednesday that the county had a high probability of tropical storm winds from 40 to 74 mph and rainfall in the 2 to 3-inch rain.
