Crapps, Dean absent to certifiy Flomaton results; Smith votes ‘no’ to certifiy Atmore’s election results
City councils in Atmore, Brewton and Flomaton met at noon Tuesday to certify the results of the Aug. 25 municipal elections with no changes in the outcomes, leaving Atmore as the only city to have a runoff election on Oct. 6.
In Atmore's District 5, Bub Gideons received 124 votes, Chris Harrison received 106 and Sandra Gray received 98. Gideons and Harrison will be back on the ballot Oct. 6.
Atmore had a total of 35 provisional ballots cast on Aug. 25. According to Atmore City Clerk Becca Smith, 10 of those votes counted and were included in the certified results.
