Staff wins re-election bid as mayor of Atmore

Flomaton Mayor Dewey Bondurant, Jr., and Atmore Mayor Jim Staff are heading back into office with both incumbents winning their respective elections Tuesday.

Flomaton had a voter turnout of about 34 percent Tuesday.

"I feel great," Bondurant said Tuesday night. "I'm grateful to the people of Flomaton who have elected me to a fifth term. My wife of 50 years helped me an awful lot. She went door-to-door to a lot of people and helped me get elected. I truly thank her."

"There were a lot of other people who helped me and I thank them," Bondurant added. "I thank the people of Flomaton for putting their trust in me and helping me to continue serving as their mayor."
