Bond is revoked

Atmore man who threatened parents violates his bond by calling his mother

An Atmore man who was being held on $500,000 bond at the Escambia County Detention Center on kidnapping charges following an April standoff with police is now being held without bond after his previous bond was revoked for repeatedly calling his mother from the jail.

As a condition of his bond, John Bradley James, 42, 1102 Sneed Drive, was to have no contact with the victims. He was arrested after threatening his mother and father with a gun that ended after a 12-hour standoff with police.

The standoff ended after police fired tear gas into the home and James was taken into custody.

Assistant District Attorney Todd Stearns said James violated the conditions of his bond by making repeated calls to his mother, who was a victim in the case.
