Flomaton hands out more than 300 boxes of free food

Town to have second giveaway beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday

The success of Saturday's food giveaway in Flomaton has prompted the town to do it again this Saturday and Mayor Dewey Bondurant, Jr., said he hopes to the program will continue another two weeks.

Bondurant said more than 300 boxes of food were given away during Saturday's drive-thru at the Flomaton Community Center.

With donations from the community, the town purchased a tractor-trailer full of food for $1,500 and volunteers were on hand to divide the food into boxes.

This week's giveaway will begin at 10 a.m. with the same guidelines as last week. Vehicles need to come down Ringold Street...
