.A 52-year old Brewton man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in Cantonment, with officials saying his death was unrelated to the crash.
Darren Burns Downing, was pronounced dead following the 8:49 a.m. incident.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle crash on Crowndale Court. The report stated Downing was backing up in his vehicle east on Crowndale Court when he had a medical emergency. The rear bumper of his Ford F-150 collided with a group of small trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No more information was available at press time.
