Animal control locked down

In an effort to keep all of its staff, volunteers and visitors safe and healthy as possibly, the Atmore and PCI Animal Control is asking that anyone who would like to visit their facility do so by appointment only.

They will answer calls and reply to emails during their regular office hours but starting today, March 26, will move to appointment only visits due to COVID-19 until further notice.

They are also suspending intake of animals by owner surrender until further notice. Residents are asked not to pick up stray animals unless they intend to foster them. If an animal is seen, resident are encouraged to call Animal Control at 251-368-0859 to give the animal’s description and location. Strays brought in by residents will not be accepted. Adoptions, fosters and redemption are by appointment only. The animal shelter will limit intake to essential intake only which includes: bite’quarantine, dangerous animals, sick or injured and confiscation for owner and legal related issues.
