Jessie Lee English, 90, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, in Atmore.
Mr. English was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a retired correction officer of the Alabama Prison System, with 36 years of service.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel with Pastor David Cooper officiating. Burial followed at Miller Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. English is survived by one son, John Lee (Christie) English of Atmore;s two daughters, Patsy (Kenny) Taylor of Atmore and Linda Sue (Ronald) Baggett of Atmore; one brother, Hugo (Eunie) English of Flomaton; one sister, Juanita English (Earl) Gunn of Huxford; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. English was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Effie Buckhault English; his parents, John and Sudie Mae English; two brothers, James English and LB English; and three sisters, Edith English Ardis, Inez English Buckhault and Annie English Grant.
