Council eyes grant for sewer lines

After the Flomaton Town Council voted to seek a Community Development Block Grant to extend sanitary sewer lines to the new precast concrete plant on Highway 31, Councilwoman Lillian Dean said it will only add more waste to the sewer lagoon on Martin Luther King Drive.

“When will it stop?” Dean asked. “It's our neighborhood, when are you going to stop?”

Mayor Dewey Bondurant Jr., said the town had a study done to construct a waste water treatment plan and the cost estimate was about $3.5 million.
