Alexander Dumas Lett, Sr., 83, died Tuesday, Nov 5, 2019.

Mr. Lett was born Dec. 14, 1935 to Harold Tucker and Brownie Lett in Monroeville, Ala. The family relocated to Century, Fla., where he graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1955. He became employed with Monsanto, where retired with 36 years of service and later owned several businesses in Century.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9. at Pilgrim Lodge Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Steward officiating. Burial followed at Century Cemetery with Jackson-McMurray Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Lett is survived by his wife, Sandar Bass Lett of Century; four sons, Alexander Lett, Jr., of Century and Douglass Lett, Vincent Lett and Gerald Lett, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Kassandra A. Lett of Century and Patricia Lett of Brooklyn; two brothers, Willie (Sarah) Lett of Moss Point, Miss. and Rev. Leonard (Jean) Lett of Toledo, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.s

Mr. Lett was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bernell Lett, Aubrey “Jackie Boy” Roberts and John Lett; three sisters, Nona Bell Scott-Williams, Mattie Flavors and Marie Goldsmith; and one grandchild.
