Stops yield five arrests

Traffic stops and the use of drug sniffing dogs led to the arrest of five people on drug charges over the past several days by the Escambia County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office.

James Tunstall, 61, 11296 Tunstall Road, Stockton, and Michelle York, 51, 56330 Stevens Place, Stockton, were both arrested Nov. 2 on drug possession charges. Sheriff's office reports state a deputy approached the vehicle and detected the smell of marijuana and saw a marijuana cigarette in the center console cupholder. A further search of the vehicle resulted in the deputy finding a cigar pack that contained two rolled marijuana cigarettes.

Krista Horner Rolin, 63, 739 Jack Springs Road, Atmore, was also arrested Nov. 2. Reports state a deputy found marijuana in Rolin's open wallet, which was beside the seat where she was sitting. A folded dollar bill containing a crystal-like substance also tested positive for methamphetamine.

On Nov. 4 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 65 near Exit 54 that led to the arrests of Louis Alberto Ibarra, 34, 14119 County Road 49, Foley, and Daniel Lee Waller, 35, of McKinley Road in Perdido. Reports state the deputy's K-9 detected the odor of narcotics in two locations on the vehicle. A search uncovered a crystal-like substance which tested positive for meth.
