Sex offender gets 15 years

Another Atmore man arrested for violating state's notification act

One Atmore man was arrested and another sentenced to 15 years and a day for violating Alabama's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act for failing to properly register with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on address changes.

Frederick Allen Barkley, 58, 58 Edgewood Court, Atmore, was sentenced to 15 years and a day on Oct. 22 in prison in Escambia County County Circuit Court.

According to sheriff's office reports, Barkley was arrested in August, 2017, for failure to report for quarterly registration during the month of July, 2017. Barkley failed to obtain an identification card...
