Eldon Lewis 'Pete' Davenport

Eldon Lewis “Pete” Davenport, 83, of East Brewton, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, in a Pensacola medical facility after a brief illness.

Mr. Davenport was a native of Courtland, N.Y. and former resident of Ohio before he became a long time resident of East Brewton. Of the Protestant faith, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired machine tender from Container Corporation with 39 years of service.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. William Joyner officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Davenport is survived by one son, Patrick (Sheri) Davenport of Brewton; one daughter, Brenda Davenport of East Brewton; one brother, Marvin Davenport of Freemont, Ohio; one sister, Beverly barr of Victery, Ohio; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Davenport was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth “Sis” Davenport; one son, Allen Davenport; three brothers, Donald Davenport, Sandy Davenport and Harold Davenport; and one grandchild.
