Sheila 'Rochelle' Bankston

Sheila “Rochelle” Bankston, 77, of Century, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Mrs. Bankston was born in Flomaton and had been a resident of the Century area for 62 years. A member of the First Baptist Church of Bratt, she was a caretaker for many of all ages in the community.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, at Flomaton Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Sanders officiating. Burial followed at Moyeville Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Bankston is survived by three sons, William Edward “Bill” Macks, Daniel B. Macks and Samuel O. (Cheryl) Macks, all of Century; two daughters, Sheila (Terry) Bryan and Robbie (Alton) Hammac; three brothers, Mose Burkett of Jay, Fla., Robert Burkett of Brewton and Arthur Burkett of Madison, Fla.; five sisters, Frances (Ed) Hayles of Atmore, Essie Amodeo and Mary (Alton) Daniels of Milton, Fla. and Edwina (Red) Calloway and Reatha Emmons, both of Brewton; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bankston was preceded in death by two husbands, Dillard Bankston and Billy Jackson Mack; her parents, Warren and Ruby Burkett; three brothers, Shep Burkett, Joe Burkett and Charles Burkett; one sister, Susie Penton; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.
