Flomaton man faces charges

A Flomaton man driving a motorcycle with no helmet was issued multiple citations and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a clear tube, that contained methamphetamine residue in his pocket.

Jeremy Alan Crapps, 41, 2127 Roosevelt St., was issued citations for driving while his license was suspended, failure to register the motorcycle, no insurance and no helmet in addition to the paraphernalia charge.

According to Flomaton police reports, Capt. Chance Thompson was on patrol in the vicinity of McCurdy and Ringold streets last Tuesday when he witnessed the motorcycle turn off McCurdy onto Ringold. Thompson reported the driver was not wearing a helmet and the motorcycle did not have a tag so he initiated a traffic stop.

A further investigation revealed the tube containing meth residue. Crapps was arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
