Alfonzie Cottrell, 81, died Monday, August 26, 2019.
Mr. Cottrell was born April 22, 1938, to Jack and Betty L. Cottrell in Century. A graduate of Carver High School, he worked for Exxon Mobile as a 1st class operator, retiring with 30 years. He joined Edward Point Christian Church, where he was Superintendent of Sunday School and Chairman of the Deacon Board for 55 years. He planted a garden that fed members of the community for many years.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 31, at Edward Point Christian Church with Rev. Sherry Johnson and Bishop Russell Fountain officiating. B...
