Velma Aline Covan

Velma Aline Covan, 79, died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in Milton, Fla.

Mrs. Covan was a native of Quitman, Miss. nd resident of Century for 63 years who has resided in Milton for the past year. A member of the New Life Fellowship Church, she was a member of the Jay Chapter #208 of the Order of he Eastern Star, where she served as past grand matron.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 15, at Petty-Eastside Chaepl Funeral Home with Bro. Lavon Caraway officiating. Burial followed at Providence Cemetery in Georgiana, Ala. and Petty-Eastside Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Covan is survived by one son, Radford (Tina) Covan of Pace; one daughter, Recindia (Buck) McCormick of Milton; one brother, Sherman (Pat) Glover of Byrneville, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Covan was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Morris Covan; two sons, Ronnie Hayes and Randy Covan; her parents, Coy and Velma Blackburn; and one sister, Margaret Levine Jones.
