“Early Saturday morning in Downtown Pensacola around 1:00 I was hit by a truck, and the guy decided to flee the scene,” stated 22-year-old Max Whitman from Jay, Fla. on social media. “The cops just uncovered a video, but they were unable to get the tag number. The truck should have been damaged on the front left or the left rearview mirror. If anyone has ANY information on the truck or the driver please contact me. This happened on Palafox, near the Vinyl.”
Whitman is referring to Saturday, June 8, when he and some friends were crossing Palafox Street in Pensacola, when he was struck by a white Toyota Tacoma. The driver decided to flee the scene and kept going. Whitman suffered serious injury and was later released from the hospital.
Authorities discovered the incident was captured by a camera located at one of the businesses on the street and are now asking the public for any information on the driver of that vehicle.
Anyone with information about the driver of the vehicle, is asked to contact the Pensacola Police Department.
