Melanie Kinman Owens, 46, died Sunday, June 2, 2019, in Atmore, Ala.
Mrs. Owens was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore who was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and the Atmore Apostolic Church.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 6, at Atmore Apostolic Church with Rev. Tim James and Bro. Hunter Richardson officiating. Burial followed at the New Home Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Owens is survived by her husband, Wesley K. Owens of Atmore; two sons, Logan Dewayne Boatwright of Marianna, Fla. and Jacob Keith Owens of Killen, Ala.; one daughter, Madelyn Hope Boatwright of Atmore; her father, David L. Kinman of Atmore; one brother, David Allen (Jessica Ramsey) Kinman of Atmore; and other family members.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtis McGhee Kinman; and four grandparents, Quincy and Elizabeth Kinman and Levi and Treacy McGhee.
