Law seeks Conecuh man

Area law enforcement agencies are asking the public to help locate a Conecuh County man who is facing multiple felony charges and was last seen Sunday night in the Damascus community in Escambia County.

Escambia County Sheriff's Capt. Bill Blair identified the suspect as John Cobb, 35, a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Blair said in addition to the outstanding warrants against Cobb, he is accused of stealing a truck, boat and firearms in Coneuch County. He is also a suspect in shooting into a vehicle in Conecuh County and shooting at someone in Covington County.

Blair said officers received information that Cobb was in the Damascus area over the weekend and went to a house in that area to search for him until 3 a.m. Blair said it appeared Cobb had been at the house but had left. He said officers went back Sunday night with tracking dogs until the rain washed away the scent. Blair said officers recovered the stolen truck Sunday night off of Damascus Road.

Blair also said deputies responded to a camp house break-in where it appeared someone had showered and slept and another camp house was broken into and a shotgun was stolen.

"We are asking people to lock their vehicles and homes," Blair said.

He said if anyone has seen Cobb, they are asked to contact the sheriff's office at 251-809-0304 or their nearest law enforcement office.
