Two Century men arrested

A call to the Flomaton Police Department dispatch Sunday about a possible intoxicated driver ended with multiple charges agains the two Century residents that included drugs, contraband and a weapon.

Following the call, Flomaton officer Derrick Hodges initiated a traffic stop at Pizza Hut on Highway 31 and Sgt. Chris Byrd arrived shortly after.

Arrested where Joshua Michael Davis, 30, and Cedric Lamar Carter, 45, with both addresses listed at Highway 4, Apartment 404, in Century.

Davis was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana II, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing a concealed pistol without a permit.

Carter was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana II and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

According to police reports, when the officers approached they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. One officer then observed Carter spit out various bags that were retrieved and identified as marijuana and meth.

Inside the vehicle the officers reported finding rolling papers, electronic scales a .22-caliber pistol and a backpack containing three different types of pills.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
