Willie Nelson warned Mamas to not let their babies grow to be cowboys because it was a hard lonely life. Alabama Representative John Rogers (D-Birmingham) tells Mama’s to not let their babies grow up at all or more precisely don’t let them even be born because life without nanny state government benefits isn’t worth living. Rogers shocked the nation when he said “kill them now or kill them later!”
Rogers made his incredibly callous comments in a floor debate to oppose the current abortion ban bill now passed by the Alabama House and referred to the Alabama Senate. Touted as the most restrictive anti-abortion law in the country, HB314 would make it a felony to perform an abortion in Alabama unless the health of the mother was gravely threatened. The pro-abortion lobby is constantly screaming abortion is needed to protect the health of the mother, so why is this bill so controversial?
The new law would allow an exemption for the health of the mother, but it’s not about the absurd notion of “reproductive health.” It’s about birth control. It’s about eliminating undesirables from our population. It's about convenience. It’s about empowering women to make poor life choices, but make another innocent life suffer the consequences.
Actually, all Americans owe Representative John Rogers a debt of gratitude for his rare moment of candor albeit crass, cruel, and doltish. Rogers inadvertently revealed the true liberal sentiments of the rabid abortion lobby. That is that life only has value on their terms; or all life is NOT sacred to liberals. For liberals, life sucks because of poverty, global warming, and conservatives. So they will gladly spare you the suffering by denying you the chance to even be born. They consider this altruistic compassion for inferior lives.
Rogers said: “Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or kill them later. You bring them into the world unwanted, unloved, then you send them to the electric chair.” A truly breath taking statement, but this is exactly the liberal view. Most abortions are performed on poor women out of wedlock and proportionally way more minority women, but liberals are certain these women and their undesirable babies have no hope of ever having a good life. They will be a burden on society and inevitably criminals, so nip it in the bud.
Trying to justify his rant, Rogers explained Alabama denies food stamps to drug addicts, so why starve them later when we can abort them now? He also blamed the closure of 13 rural hospitals as justification for abortion because apparently without government healthcare life is just not worth living. This is the crux of the liberal argument for abortion. Liberals see average people as incapable of surviving on their own and without government assistance it’s hopeless, so like all socialists before, they are always eager to thin the herd – reduce the demand on government.
Rogers also exposed why liberals struggle with our God given rights. For liberals, only the government can provide happiness, so if government is limited, why grant life in the first place? And if government is the sole arbiter of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, cold calculations about government resources versus a dependent population would be a necessary evil. But Americans don’t need government to survive or thrive.
In the highly sanitized liberal worldview, Dr. Ben Carson’s mother does not exist. By liberal estimates, it’s impossible for a poverty stricken illiterate single mother to raise doctors and lawyers. Liberals believe in the collective not the individual, so individual rights or even capacity to beat the odds never outweighs their cynical purposes for the common good.
But Americans know better. Americans believe in the human spirit and have special regard for a mother’s love. They know a loving mother can conquer any adversity for her babies. Nothing is more heinous than seducing a troubled mother into killing her own child for the convenience of society. Life is not easy nor is it fair, but every life is a gift from God!
On this Mother’s Day, remember and honor all the miracles mothers have done for their children. Pray for every mother to rest assured they have a special place in society and that we cherish them and their babies. Give them life and don’t let them grow up to be killed.
