Esther V. Ephriam James, 73, of Mobile and formerly of Atmore, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at her daughter's home.
Mrs. James was a native of Beatrice, Ala. who graduated from the Escambia County Training School in 1964. Retired with Jefferson Smurfitt-Stone, now Georgia Pacific in Brewton, she enjoyed traveling and modeling.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Bishop Darryl North officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
Mrs. James is survived by one son, Nicholas McCreary of Mobile; two daughters, Sheila Ephriam of Atmore and Keisha Ephrian of Waynesboro, Miss.; one brother, Samuel F. McCreary, Jr. of Beaumont, Texas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other family members.
Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce James; and her parents, Samuel, Sr. and Marion Sanders Walton.
