Willie Bernard Blackwell, 82, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Pensacola.
Mr. Blackwell was a native of Excel, Ala. and former resident of Conecuh County, Ala. who had resided in McDavid, Fla. since 1978. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, where he retired with 20 years of service and received two bronze stars, he was of the Baptist faith and an avid outdoorsman.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 5, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. William Chancery officiating. Burial followed at Ray's Chapel Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Blackwell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marianne Blackwell of McDavid; one son, Juergen (Ursula) Blackwell of Ettlingen, Germany; two sisters, Doris Adams of McDavid and Faye (Jack) Merchant of Bluff Springs, Fla.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mary Blackwell.
