Ethel Sumter Martin “Mart” Henderson, 86, died Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Sugar Land, Texas.
Mrs. Henderson was born April 17, 1922 to John Morey and Ethel Augusta Martin in Brewton. She wed in 1941 and moved to Texas in 1947, where she lived the rest of her life. Working for many years in retail, she retired from Foley's in Sharpstown, Texas in 1987 and was honored with the Million Dollar Sales Award in multiple years.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Chaplain Robert Price officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by four sons, George Jackson (Sandra Anderson) Henderson, Jr., Morey Martin (Linda Mackall) Henderson, Ronald David Henderson and William Douglas (Nancy Lura) Henderson; one daughter, Sharon Kay Henderson (Daniel) Lippe; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, George Jackson Henderson; and her parents.
