Carson, Noah traveling the nation

Georgia woman and her dog make stop in Flomaton on route

Alisa Carson of Griffin, Ga., is homeless but having the time of her life traveling around the country on a mini-bike with her dog Noah on a trip that brought her through Flomaton last week.

She said with all her family members dead she really had no where she needed to be and decided to take off. She's been through Pennsylvania, Texas and the panhandle of Florida.

"I didn't have anywhere I needed to be and I decided I wanted to travel around and visit the country," she said.

She was in Monroeville when she started having problems with her mini bike and someone suggested she travel to Flomaton and go to Flomaton Motorsports. She arrived in Flomaton about 4 p.m. last Thursday and Flomaton First Baptist Church opened up its gym to let her and Noah spend the night. Friday she was at Flomaton Motorsports getting repairs done. She said she got Noah when he was six weeks old and he'll be seven years old in October.

A sign on the side of her bike reads 'Traveling homeless, please help' and she said people have helped her along her journey.

"I've met a lot of really nice people," she said.

She said a lot of churches have allowed her and Noah to spend the night and said she also has a tent the two share on other occasions.

"We don't have any real plans, we'll just move on and keep on traveling," she said Friday in Flomaton.
