Jay man facing drug charges

A Jay man was arrested Feb. 14 and one faces two felony counts of drug possession following a narcotics investigation by the Santa Rosa County Narcotics Unit and the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Sam Daniel Bass, 21, 6149 Old Pollard Road, was arrested when law enforcement serving an arrest warrant conducted a search of the residence and discovered a vape pen containing THC oil, rolling papers, marijuana blunts and marijuana; THC wax weighing 26.0 grams found in the closet; a bag containing several small empty baggies commonly used to package narcotics; 7 individual packages of suspected spice weighing a total of 62.0 grams and a firearm, according to the report.

The report said when Hunter opened the door to the residence, the strong odor of marijuana came from within the residence and marijuana as in plain view on the floor in Sam Bass' bedroom.

The bag of suspected spice found in the closet tested positive for a controlled substance and the THC wax also tested positive for THC, the report said.

Sam Bass was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a synthetic cannabinoid and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to Santa Rosa County Jail, where he was given a bond of $16,000.
