Locals named to university lists; graduate

Local students from Atmore, Brewton and Flomaton were recognized by their schools for academic accomplishments.

Ryan Daniel and Perry Metzler, both attending Troy University, completed the requirements for graduation with bachelor of science degrees during the Fall Semester and Term 2 of the 2018/2019 academic year.

Metzler, along with several other local students, including Mary Peace and Madalyn Weaver of Brewton, Chelsea Turner, Ariel Whatley and Ziah Young of Atmore and Kimberly Waldrop of Flomaton, have been named to the Chancellor's List for the Fall Semester and Term 2 of the 2018/2019 academic year.

Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the Chancellor's List.

Local residents Haley Baggett, Jennifer Dunn, Trentarius Ikner and Morgan Manning, all of Brewton, and Anna Sasser of Atmore have been named to the Provost's List for the Fall Semester and Term 2 of the 2018/2019 academic year.

Austin Lee of Atmore has been named to the Eastern New Mexico University Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours with a Grade Point Average between 3.25 and 4.00.

Joshua H. Bonds of Flomaton has been awarded an Occupation Safety and Health Management degree from Jacksonville State University.

Bonds was among 582 students who were conferred degrees at JSU's fall commencement ceremony on Dec. 13. Due to ongoing repairs at Pete Mathews Coliseum following the destructive March 19, 2018 tornado, the ceremony was held on Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium.
