Runners in and around the Century area lace up your running shoes and get ready for the first annual Century Cross Country Classic, a 5K Run, 5K Walk and Fun Run (free) fundraiser, hosted by Matt and Teresa Dobson beginning at 8 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, to benefit the Century Area Chamber of Commerce.
The run will begin at Showalter Park through Anthony Pleasant Park and other areas of Century. The course is grass, dirt, and some pavement throughout. Course maps will be available on race day.
Early packet pick-up will be from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, at Anthony Pleasant Park, located off State Road 4 in Century.

Early registration from Jan. 1 to Jan. 25 is $20. Corporate sponsorship deadline is Monday, Jan. 14. and business names will appear on the back of the T-shirt.
Registration is $25 the day of the race and a T-shirt or the correct size cannot be guaranteed. The first 50 individuals to preregister are guaranteed a T-shirt. Checks should be made payable to Century Chamber of Commerce and mailed to 7811 N. Century Blvd. Century, Fla. 32535.
There will be first, second and third prizes given in various age divisions, for overall male and female running times and participation ribbons for all Fun Run participants. Uniquely designed medals and ribbons will go to the top three finishers in 34 different age groups, with an over all award to first male and first female. There will also be awards for 5K walkers for the top three men and top three women.
Corporate and business sponsorships will be offered and those sponsors' names will appear on the back of the run T-shirts.
