Investigation focusing on people who had contact with McBride prior to disappearance

Following multiple searches in wooded areas and bodies of water near Eva Lisenby McBride's Pollard home, law enforcement agencies are looking at other avenues to locate the 74-year old woman who was reported missing Saturday, Nov. 24.
"We're pretty convinced she's not in the woods," said Escambia County Sheriff's Office Capt. Bill Blair. "We are looking at other possibilities and are interviewing her friends and family members."
Blair said since the word got out that McBride was missing the sheriff's office has received several telephone calls of possible sightings of women who matched her description, but none turned out to be McBride. He said there were two or three possible sightings in Pensacola and others in Dothan, Troy and Panama City.
"We checked all of these out and it wasn't her," Blair said. "We do appreciate the citizens calling us and we will continue to follow any lead we receive even if it seems insignificant."
Blair said officials originally thought McBride had wandered away from her home and an extensive search was conducted over several days using manpower, tracking dogs, boats and aircraft.
He said the investigation is now taking a step backwards to interview everybody who had contact with her prior to her being reported missing.
He noted the sheriff's office is trying to locate a man who helped McBride about a week before she disappeared after her car broke down at Walmart in Brewton.
Blair said the 'stranger' helped her get the vehicle towed to Jim Peach Motors and then gave her a ride back to her house in Pollard.
"We need to talk to him to help determine a timeline," Blair said. "If this is you, please contact us at 251-867-0304."
Blair is also asking anyone who had any contact with McBride the weeks leading up to her disappearance to call the sheriff's office.
"We want to talk to everybody who talked to her over the past few weeks," he said.
